Biographical Info
As a registered psychotherapist I have worked for 12 years in private practice with adolescents, adults and couples. As well as being a certified TRTP practitioner, I am a registered member of PACFA (Psychotherpay & Counselling Federation of Australia), and IICT (International Institute for Complementary Therapists).
My early training in psychology took me to working in Child Protection and then on to community welfare with migrants, parents of children with disabilities and new mothers. This breadth of experience enriched my ability to understand the needs of clients from different walks of life.
As a more mature person I undertook further training in Holistic Counselling & Psychotherapy, which reflected the newly emerging integrative practices working with body, soul and spirit. This direction also refects my personal evolution.
Working as a generalist in my own practice has been very rewarding, and I have been able to support many clients to live more peaceful and authentic lives. However this clinical experience has also shown me how much trauma is in the background for so many clients, depite their good work, and often in events which aren’t recognised as traumatic. The fact that these experiences continue to ‘live’ in the client, and can be re-triggered, can work against the positive shifts and new insights and awareness gained from therapeutic work.
This is where training in the inspired method of TRTP has given me a powerful option to offer these clients. I am so encouraged and thrilled by how much deep and lasting change and release from the cycle of suffering I am witnessing since using this ground breaking approach.
