On this webinar Judith and Petrina discuss Petrina’s experience of TRTP training and the documented outcomes of her work with her clients.
These documented outcomes form the basis of a major research project re TRTP in partnership with the Medical Dept., Melb. University. The Ethics Committee have recently given their approval to commence the Pilot Study for this research project.
A very interesting conversation between Judith Richards, creator of TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process) and Dr Petrina Barson, GP.
No holds barred, discussing real, live outcomes – positive and negative.
Petrina is part of an award-winning General Practice in Melbourne with more than 30 years experience. She also teaches Compassion and Communication Skills at the Dept. of Medicine, Melbourne University and is the Director of the Centre for a Compassionate Society.
Petrina has a special interest in mental health. She listens deeply, and takes time to understand her patients’ mental health from a broad perspective. She had been aware for a long time that trauma was the basis of so many of her patients’ unresolved physical and mental health problems, and so she was incredibly excited to ‘discover’ TRTP. She has been practising TRTP since 2018, and is still staggered by the way it enables her patients to move to the other side of their pain, and to flourish. She feels very privileged to have been given this gift, and to be able to offer it to her patients.
